There are two ways to enter the countryside at night: at sunset (after sunset comes a huge snowstorm, and can be particularly scary at night) and when the sun is out for the day. However, before this is possible, you must first get a boat from the boat dock and use your own boat key. The boat dock will open at around 5:48 am.
Get your water bottle at the river crossing and head southward to the countryside. You may see red or grey lights, or perhaps you can see a forested area.
Head north to the village of Faih-i-Sihye, and then follow the road down overhanging mountains until you come to the main road near Ching-chien. The road takes you to the town of Anh (a small village about a mile from the village of Ahn-i-Sihye) where the town is home to three large fish shops, two of which are open 24/7. Once there you can also go to the village of Be'i (a huge fish shop) and you can check out where they sell fish all season.
